MINUTES OF A MEETING HELD MARCH 20, 2010
AT SAINT
MARKS
ATTENDING: Vasco Coombs,
Deacon Bob Sullivan, Dede Lewis, Brenda McGintis, Sherry Fleming, Stephen

Vasco Coombs called the meeting to
order at 10:00 AM with the Cursillo prayer. Deacon Bob Sullivan, Diocesan
Spiritual Director, gave the opening prayer. A quorum was established.

Vasco Coombs presented Pam Anderson
and Nick Wells to be commissioned as Cursillo Rectors for the Womens Cursillo
#104 and Men's Cursillo #87, respectively. Deacon Bob Sullivan led the
installation.
ITEMS APPROVED VIA EMAIL:
Minutes of the meeting for January 16, 2010 were approved via email and then
posted on the website. Brenda moved to accept the minutes and Sherry seconded
the motion. The motion was approved.
LAY DIRECTORS REPORT: Vasco
Coombs reported that all the Men's Rollistas were selected for the Jamaican
Cursillo. Travel plans were discussed.
The dates for 2011 Cursillo weekends
were set with the Duncan Center; June 16-19, July 14-17 and September 15-18.
The dates for 2012 would be in April and May.
TREASURER'S REPORT: Bill Hurd
went over the Profit & Loss Report and the Balance Sheet. There was
discussion of what is needed to show on future P&L reports as this is a
work in progress. Bob Anderson made a motion to accept the reports and Barbara
McKenzie seconded the motion. The motion was approved.
There was discussion on the criteria
for scholarships. A suggestion was made to put an article in the Net discussing
churches/Cursillestas supporting team members as well as candidates financially
and spiritually.
BISHOP'S REPRESENTATIVE: The
Policy and Procedures are in process. A draft copy had been sent out to the
members of the Secretariat.
On March 26, 2010 the ECLW is holding
a conference in Canterbury Center in Orlando.
SPANISH CURSILLO: Rev. Orlando
Addison was unable to attend, but spoke with Vasco informing him that he
obtained the Spanish Cursillo Material from Manny Mesa. The problem was that
these documents are not on the computer, and was somewhat concerned if the
Secretariat has funds to pay someone to transfer the documents to the computer.
There followed some discussion about getting individuals to assist with this
ministry.
SPIRITUAL DIRECTOR REPORT:
Deacon Bob Sullivan reported that he continues to work on clergy for the
weekends. Three have been selected and the head clergy for the women's weekend
is Rev. Cynthia Gill and the head clergy for the men's weekend is Rev. Steven
Thomas.
PASTORAL PLAN: Deacon Bob
Sullivan stated that the Pastoral Pan was a work in progress at this time.
FOURTH DAY: Brenda McGintis
reported that on May 28, 2010 the First Annual Fundraiser Dance will be held at
Holy Family, in Miami.
St. Faith Episcopal Church, Miami, is
holding an Ultreya possibly the first weekend in June. Tom Johnson will be
honored at that Ultreya. He started the Cursillo movement in this diocese and
was rector of Men's Cursillo #1.
There is an Ultreya planned for May
22, 1010 at St Andrew's Episcopal Church , Lake Worth, with lunch 1:00 p.m. -
2:00 pm and the Ultreya starting at 2pm.
WEEKEND COMMITTEE REPORT:
Barbara McKenzie discussed having a group of emergency Rectors and a
Secretariat Liaison for the weekends in case someone is not able to make the
weekend. Use of the parish reps and people from the Secretariat were suggested
as a good source.
ADDITIONAL DISCUSSION: Sherry
is looking for ideas and thoughts concerning the Cursillo Booth that would be
set up at the next Diocesan Convention.
NEXT MEETING: The next meeting
will be May 15, 2010 at Holy Family, Miami, at 10:00 a.m.
Bill Hurd made a motion to adjourn
and Barbara McKenzie seconded. Deacon Bob Sullivan closed the meeting with a
prayer. The meeting was adjourned at 12:10 PM
