MINUTES OF A MEETING HELD NOVEMBER 21, 2009
AT ST. JOSEPH'S
IN BOYNTON BEACH
ATTENDING: Vasco Coombs, Bob

Vasco Coombs called the meeting to
order at 10:20 am. The meeting was opened with the Cursillo prayer. Cori Olson
gave the opening prayer. A quorum was established.
ITEMS APPROVED VIA EMAIL:
Minutes of the meeting of September 13, 2009 were approved via email and posted
on the website.
SE Florida Cursillo Movement will
share the weekend procedures manual with the Bahamas was approved September
2009.
LAY DIRECTORS REPORT: Vasco
Coombs is upgrading the PowerPoint presentations for the chapel services on the
weekends and will have it completed by the end of January 2010.
Cori Olson suggested that we ask the
Duncan Center for a monitor for the person leading worship so they can see what
the people are seeing on the Power Point system.
TREASURER'S REPORT: Valerie
Belben will email her completed treasurer report by Thanksgiving. There is a
balance of $14,373 in the account.
BISHOP'S REPRESENTATIVE: Dede
Lewis stated that Bill Hurd has ordered two QuickBooks (himself and Valerie).
They will enter all of the transactions for 2009 and have Financial Statements.
She also stated that Chris Valdez had called her and a request had not been
made for the $3,000 from the Diocese. She emailed a request and the amount will
be sent to the Treasurer - this is to be noted that after January of each year,
the line item amount allocated should be requested.
Bob Sullivan will be the Diocesan
Spiritual Director for 2010. Jeannie Lou Reid will be a Spiritual director from
the South Sector.
Exporting Cursillo to Jamaica - Bob
Foot made a suggested inventory for the weekend. We may need 10 to 12 people to
go to Jamaica for the men's weekend. Costs need to be decided such as
registration and transportation. The committee will discuss this and make a
recommendation.
All changes in schedules should go
through the Lay Director and Spiritual Director and, if possible, all members
of the Secretariat.
Dates for 2010, 2011 and 2012 were
discussed. It was suggested that we consider scheduling weekends in the spring
and we have two women's weekends in 2010. Dede will email the dates that are
available at the Duncan Center.
SPANISH CURSILLO: Fr. Orlando
Addison gave his report and indicated that he needs more time to reorganize the
Spanish. Orlando made a motion to move the Spanish weekend from 2010 to 2011.
Bob Sullivan seconded. It was passed.
CLERGY REPORTS: Cori was asked
by Lillie Clarke, Rector to serve as clergy on a Women's weekend. She is also
calling the other clergy to serve - they will all be women clergy.
Bob Sullivan will call clergy for the
Men's weekend. Cori stated that on the Men's weekend, only male clergy can
serve.
PRE-CURSILLO REPORT: Bob
Anderson stated that we need to try to anticipate problems before the weekend.
WEEKEND: Barbara gave a report
on the past two weekends and she is working on policies, and currently her main
focus is on weekend responsibilities. Pam Anderson and Nick Wells are
recommended for the Women's and Men's weekend for 2010, respectively.
Bob Anderson suggested that these two
people get called. The critiques for the two past weekends were overwhelmingly
positive. Bob Anderson asked there be a discussion on scholarships at the
January meeting.
Cori made a suggestion that there
should be a back-up clergy to fill in when a clergy scheduled for the weekend
needs to drop out.
4TH DAY: Brenda stated that we
are making plans to have an Ultreya in Marathon.
Brenda also stated that she has asked
Jean Robinson from Holy Family to be the Fundraising Chair to raise money for
Cursillo.
Bob Sullivan made a motion to approve
the policy and procedures that have been written to date. It was seconded and
passed.
NEXT MEETING: the planning
session to be held at St. James in the Hills in on January 16, 2010 from 9:30
am to 2:30 pm. A motion to adjourn was made and seconded. The meeting was
adjourned at 11:50 am.
