Bishop's Representative - Dede
Lewis - The Bishop is pleased with the way the Cursillo Movement is going.
Clergy - Deacon Bob Sullivan -
The Spanish Cursillo is well underway. He met with a clergy gathering and spoke
with the members regarding Cursillo. NEC has a new website that discusses what
happens during a Cursillo weekend. He has been speaking with clergy one-on-one
and it has been more affective. The clergy are all in place for this year's
weekends.
Hispanic Cursillo - Fr. Orlando
Addison - EWHLC #106 is moving forward (Episcopal Women's Hispanic Latino
Cursillo) Sherry Fleming and Pam Anderson have been working with Noelis
Rodriguez. Fr. Cutie will be participating for part of the weekend as clergy.
Translations of the documents into Spanish are in process. Servers are needed
and they do not need to speak Spanish.
Weekend Committee - Sherry Fleming
- Sherry is working closely with Fr. Addison and Noelis Rodriguez to have
the documents used for the EWHLC #106 weekend translated. Bishop Frade and
Diana are assisting with translations. Sherry has suggested that food palanca
could be from a committee with someone more local. Noelis Rodriguez is still
putting together her team. Getting candidates is a focus of the group. Gustavo
Rodriguez is the registrar for names being considered as candidates. The
Diocesan Registrar, Audrey Coombs, and Gustavo Rodriguez need to be in
communication as to how to report applications of candidates and finances.
Pre-Cursillo - Bob Anderson -
Bob presented a letter that he would like to send out. The letter is
informational about upcoming weekends along with needs for these weekends. The
Secretariat will review the letter and make suggestions the best way to use
this letter.Fr. Horace Ward suggested sending out bullets of information
separately rather than a long letter.
Lay Director Report - Barbara
MacKenzie - Barbara has suggested that additional representation on the
Secretariat from the Central and South Sectors could help stimulate interest.
Fr Addison suggested that we can expand and look for people who are bilingual
not only in Spanish but also Portuguese and Creole to help attract more people
from out multi-cultural area.
Barbara has listed functions to help
expand committees. There was discussion concerning networking between the
churches and communicating with people. Barbara requested that each member of
the Secretariat supply two names within the next week as possible ECLW
coordinators for the ECLW that is meeting in the fall of 2012.
The next meeting is scheduled for June
19, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Duncan Center. Meeting adjourned 12:36.
Respectfully Submitted, Ellen Newton
